Finally, a course that ACTUALLY teaches you how to run a business as a yoga teacher.

After your 200hr training, you're pretty much left alone to figure out how to make it in the yoga world.

So naturally, you do what everyone else is doing - get a job at a studio (maybe get insurance to cover your butt) and feel pretty good.

But no one tells you how to act like a business.

No one tells you how to protect yourself.

No one tells you how you can grow your audience and start to build an actual business that you have control over.

No one told me, but after 5 years, I was forced to figure it out for myself. And now I want to share it with you so you don't have to figure it out alone.

If it wasn't for the pandemic, I may not be here talking to you today but I am so happy I am.

We know the story, the pandemic hit & yoga studios closed.

All the places that I was teaching didn't have a great plan of how to make it through. I went from teaching 5 classes a week (on top of a 9-5 job at that point) to NOTHING.

I knew I had to do something & fend for myself.

I started teaching online for free and for friends which was fun for a while. But then we were 2 months in & I knew that this new way of life was going nowhere, not to mention I still wasn't able to teach at studios.  So I buckled down and decided I needed to do more.

I popped up a website, posted to my small social media following, and hoped for the best.

I started to make some money but quickly realized there were so many things to think about and make sure were covered.

    • How can I accept money?

    • How much should I charge for classes?

    • Do I have to form a 'real' business?

    • How do I contact my clients from my old studio so they know that I am teaching?

I spent a couple of months tackling this first set of questions, then the pandemic grew on and I started to realize something huge:

Teaching on my own & having my own business was WAY more exciting, rewarding, and fulfilling than the way I was teaching before.

    I no longer had to:

    • Teach in a way that was 'on brand' for the studio

    • Teach classes that were exactly 60 minutes

    • Commute 35 minutes each way to class

    • Get paid a flat rate even though my class sold out

    • Give my ideas & creativity away for a studio's benefit

I was in control of my clients, my classes & my compensation. And I loved it.

But as my love for having my own business grew, so did my list of questions.

    • How do I get more clients?

    • How do I make this sustainable?

    • How do I use my Instagram as a tool for business?

    • What do I do now that I am making some money?

    • How do I know the things I need to run my business & what aren't necessary?

    • Am I legally protected now?

I spent the next few months googling, talking to my accountant from my first business, enrolling in courses upon courses from legal to business to online marketing.

While I admittedly had a lot of free time thanks to my new quarantine lifestyle, I kept wondering:

Why is it so hard to find all of this information? Why can't it be in one place?

And that is why I created the:

How to Start Your Yoga Business Course

The only training for yoga teachers that includes how to grow your business AND how to actually start it (like legitimately register it) and run it soundly so you can do what you do best:

teach yoga & change your clients' lives.

Ok, so you might be thinking:

"but Jenny I don't NEED a 'real' business to teach yoga?"

Yes, that's another thing no one told you.

As yoga teachers, even if you teach at a studio, you are not their employee. This means you are your own business.

Why not take that power & use it to benefit yourself more than contributing to the growth of someone else's business?

Don't get me wrong, you can still teach at studios and I think they still have their place, I just want you to know that you get to choose where you teach & how you teach.

When you start thinking about yourself as a business, you start making decisions that make more sense for you.

So maybe now you're thinking, wow Jenny, that was such great advice, I will start thinking about myself as a business and I am good to go!

    But hold up again.

You need to act like a business too.

Because being your own business (whether you want to believe it or not, you are a business) means you have responsibilities.

    Responsibilities like:

    • registering with your state

    • managing your finances

    • paying taxes

    • protecting yourself & your clients' information

And I'm telling you, so many people make simple mistakes early on that either cost them the little amount of money they are making or scare them out of every growing to their real potential.

How do I know? I made almost all of them.

According to this article from LegalZoom, I made 9 out of the 10 mistakes that many other new small business owners make.

    And you know why?

This simple information that can get you off on the right foot, and save you countless hours and money is not easily accessible or known by yoga teachers!

And that is exactly why I created the course - to share it with you so you don't make the same mistakes I did.

Here's what you are getting in the course:

Still not sure this course is for you? This course is for you if:

You are tired of teaching only at studios. There is nothing wrong with yoga studios, but there is a ceiling to growth when only teaching at studios.  And like we saw with the pandemic, there is no assurance to your job. I don't know about you, but I would rather have my future be in my hands, instead of someone else's.

You know there is more to a yoga business than just teaching yoga. Chances are if you have gotten this far, you are a responsible person who knows that having a business means more than just teaching classes. You get that there are responsibilities associated, but you aren't quite sure what they are and it's holding you back. That is EXACTLY how I felt & I want to empower you with all the knowledge you need.

You have students who only come to your classes & want to know how to capitalize on this. You are a great teacher and people show up to your classes week after week. You can & should be benefitting from this! I'll walk you through the first steps and show you how just a few loyal customers become the beginning of something great.

You're not in it just for fun. You know building a business and making a living off of your yoga is not like a trip to the beach. You want to learn everything you need to know to build a sound business from the beginning.

You are just getting started. You just finished your training & are well aware there are many yoga teachers out there. You are ready to join the industry with a splash and be a step above your peers who may get lost in the crowd.

This course is NOT for you if:

    • You don't want to spend some money upfront to start your business. Starting a business the right way requires investment on the front end so you are protected on the back end - if you don't see this course as one of many investments on your journey, then it is not the right place for you.

    • You expect this course to teach you how to make $$$$$. Having a solid business plan and set-up is definitely the first step before you can make your business reach your income goals, but becoming a 6-figure business overnight is not what we learn in this course.

If it is your dream to make yoga your everyday job, to leave behind a life that doesn't make you fulfilled or happy, you've got to set your business up the right way.

I know, I was there too - once I figured out how to do it all, I couldn't help myself but teach everyone I knew.

I can't wait to see what you are able to do & everyone you are able to help.

I consider myself lucky to be in a position to help people do this everyday.

    To start yoga businesses.

    To start their dreams.

    Xoxo
